Pioneer Day Extended

Steven took the Friday after Pioneer Day off, so we got to play at the aviary :)

Steven's bird identifying skills are growing; we were both impressed by his knowledge and memory :) The day was hot, but luckily there were plenty of shady spots to cool down in. We had fun and just took our time.

After a nice little nap we joined some friends for dinner and the Days of '47 Rodeo! Steven loves rodeos...(did you get the sarcasm there?) he does at least love his wifey enough to sit through one :) and I dare say he enjoyed it a little bit.

There's that enjoyment :) I loved having this guy all to myself for the day! 

It was so good to see the Loveland clan! Plus, I find the bull and bronco riding fascinating. And the riders' names are interesting too; there was a guy named Turtle Powell! Guess we know what Festus's name will be when he gets here :)
