Pioneer Day

Days of '47 parade! A Powell tradition

One of the first presidency usually begins the parade; I was really excited that this year it was President Monson!

The second highlight was the t-Rex float that moved and roared.

Steven and Danny as twinners! :) Overall the parade was ok, it was just fun to be there.

After a lovely 2+ hour nap, we went to the Powell's for yummy food and to celebrate Sarah's birthday.

Onto the RSL vs Montreal game!

Real won 3-1 and there were fireworks after :)
I'm getting so fluffy! I feel like this baby is already a fatty.

We didn't do much to remind us of pioneers, but we're grateful for all the pioneers who came before us! We recently discovered some interesting pioneer heritage and are excited to look more into it.
Happy Pioneer Day!

More Aquarium

With the nieces and nephews!

It had a rock in its mouth and was making a nest! Baby penguins soon?? :)

Beth and Jayse were there too, just not in these photos :(
It's funny how much faster you go through it with kids :)

Fichin'

For the first time in our married lives we bought fishing licenses! It's a pretty cheap and easy date so I don't know why we haven't done it before. For our maiden usage the Christensen's invited us out to Willard Bay.

It's pretty shallow and we lost a few hooks that kept getting stuck. The first hour we had no luck so we went to get food at Maddox in Brigham City. Christensen's love it; this was our first time. The fried chicken was pretty tastey.

We went back to the bay to try our luck at another spot. Tiffany got a bite but lost it before we saw it. I caught a 'monster catfish' (as Taylor called it) that jumped out of the water as I reeled it in. It looked pretty epic when it jumped all glistening in the light with the sunset behind it. Alas, as Taylor went to pick it up out of the water the weak line snapped and it swam to freedom. I caught it, reeled it in, and everyone saw it, so even if there are no pictures I'm counting it :)
A short while later the same thing happened to Tiffany. She almost had the big catfish up on the shore before her line snapped too.
Even though we didn't come away with anything it was still a grand afternoon adventure with an amazing sunset! (That neither of us got a picture of..)
And I made a friend:
He wouldn't go away. He finally perched on my chair and stayed there until I packed the chair away :)

5

We had big plans to celebrate, but timing wasn't great. I think it was perfect anyway :)

I highly recommend this B&B, it's old, charming, and the food is great! We stayed here on our wedding night and love coming back to experience a new room.

Steven is loving his pasta :)

          A stroll around City Creek

Steven took Friday off and we went to the aquarium.

                Battleship sharks!

Cedar doesn't have a 7-11 so we haven't always taken advantage of free goodness, but today we did!

      To the Mt. Timpanogos temple!

        And a Cinnabonbon treat! :D

Where this 5 year (and beyond) journey began. I wouldn't change anything about the last five years together, even the hard stuff. Knowing it started here makes everything that much better and completely worth it. I'm so excited for the next five years (and beyond) and all it has in store.
Having the best husband ever helps too :)
