Fancy Gala? Yes Please!

The other night Steven and I got all fancied up and headed downtown to the Grand America hotel for the Granite Education Foundation fundraiser gala (Steven was there for work to take photos, best job ever).
It started with a silent auction, then amazing food, and entertainment. And yes, I took a picture of myself in the 'powder room' of the fancy bathroom. We left with full stomaches and a plush puppy we got from the auction. It wasn't super fancy but it was really nice. Good date night :)

Mrs Old-fashioned-Anti-technology Caved

I'm sending this from my new smart phone... Yep, I caved. The merging/changing of our phone plan, plus the convenience of keeping up with some changes here caused this cosmic catastrophe (the cheep upgrade played a part too). Whether or not tears of sadness were shed over the old phone and the simplicity of buttons is irrelevant... Steven says I'm one of few people in the world where buying a 'better' phone is a traumatic experience.
Don't get me wrong, I like my new gadget and all I can do with it, like blog again, and am very grateful for it. I'm just horribly old-fashioned and sentimental :) I still can't text well, and I often yell out in frustration when woman and gadget don't see eye to eye, but I'll get it down or cry trying!
Maybe I'll even figure out how to put a picture with this....

Three months later...

 We're still alive.  Still internet-less. I think I'll start doing "nut-shell" posts when I get pictures organized.  For now these are the ones I have available for my short time with the interwebs.
Before another holiday passes I better post about Halloween!

I think my favorite part of Halloween was when I was trick-or-treating
with Cloie and she wanted to knock on a door by herself and told me to stand where I couldn't be seen.  I asked if she was ashamed of me and she said, "uh huh."
