Visitors!

We were very lucky to have two weekends in a row where 

people came down to visit us!

A couple weeks ago our friends Rob, Shaun, and Taylor ventured down.

They got here late Friday so we didn't do much that night.  Saturday, once everyone 

woke up, we got our picnic together and headed to Zion NP.

Then we headed to St. George to spend four and a half hours at 

Red Robin so that we could watch the BYU/Utah game.  Despite the game

we had a pretty good time slowly eating and chilling at Red Robin.

Sunday after church, when the guys were finally awake, we experimented 

with Rob's billy club

  It was fun having those guys down.

Then the following weekend Steven's parents and brother, Danny, 

decided to make a last-minute trip down to see 'Noises Off' at the

Shakespeare Festival

 This is clearly the stage :) It was a great play, we 

were laughing practically the whole time.

Saturday Steven had to work and I went to St. George with

his family for a car show and Swiss Days where DeAnne got me this:

It's a pocket-watch necklace! I fell in love with the owl, and 

then realized it was also a watch.  I was pretty excited :)

We got back to Cedar in time to meet Steven.  We did some shopping, got some dinner, 

then our visitors had to leave early.  We are so glad they came, and we appreciate 

all they do for us!

I then went to the Relief Society General Conference.  I'm so glad I went, 

I loved the talks, especially President Utchdorf's.  The whole hing was very 

uplifting.

Thank you 40 minute nose bleed, for getting me out of an hours worth of work.

And to the school nurse who finally got it to stop.

I'm a bit light headed, maybe running today isn't a good idea.

Best Birthday (since last year :)

It was over a week ago, but I'm finally posting about my birthday and all of the great 

things we got to enjoy!

That is the yummy Tiramisu cake that we got to engorge ourselves with :)

We decided to take a last minute trip up to Salt Lake during Labor Day weekend.

It worked out better for seeing everyone.  I got to spend a lot of time with my mummy, 

and we were able to just enjoy a lot of family time.  We had some great shopping

trips, and got to go to two great BBQs.

We had a bigger bbq on Sunday and had people over for cake and ice cream.

 Yep, that ball got her in the face...it's ok to laugh, 

she was fine :)

We originally had two cakes, the lovely tiramisu, and a red velvet cake.

sadly we did not get to enjoy the red velvet...

The cake got placed on the stove, out of the way. My mom went to

turn on the back burner to make baked beans, and out of habit turned the front one 

on...the one with the cake on it...baked beans are bad luck.

In order to have enough cake we quickly made another one.

I love how Cloie helped blow them out :)

It was a lovely weekend full of cake and family, what could be better?

How about adding a Rodeo, shopping, and Thai food!

 That's right, There was a Rodeo in Cedar the night of my birthday, 

and Steven actually said we could go! (after much grimacing and many "if-that's-

really-what-you-want-to-do-for-your-birthday's") He's not really into that scene, 

but I think even he had fun

his pants also came off, which would have been funny had he not still

been dangerously stuck to the bucking horse.

 Whitney (whose birthday is the day after mine) and Steven joined us 

on this adventure.  Actually, if they hadn't come I think Steven would've reconsidered.

 That is a tiny baby goat :) The mutton bustin' was adorable! And 

I really enjoyed the Bull riding (of course).  Unfortunately my camera batteries

died, so I didn't get pictures of those.

 I had a blast! I don't really have much to compare it to, but I thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Then Saturday we got to sleep in and lazily get ready (I love mornings like that).

We headed to St. George, and thanks to some previously tight, but newly discovered now-baggy pants, I was in a great mood for some shopping! I actually got some clothes (I'm usually a pretty picky shopper).  We also found some great deals on other things we 

needed.  Then we enjoyed some delicious Thai Food at Benja's.  We'd never been there, 

it was Amazing!  

Sunday we got to delight in some delicious ice cream cake and fun games with our 

awesome neighbors.  And This week our neighbor Emily took Whitney and I out to lunch for our birthdays, it was really great, and so sweet of her to do that!

Needless to say I had an awesome birthday.  As I get older birthdays just don't feel

the same as when I was a kid.  This time it felt like my birthday, mostly because I got to spend it with some great people, and especially because of all the time I got to spend with my amazing husband :)

And of course our tradition of decorating as pathetically as possible.  This

year Steven made it even better with toilet paper streamers and

construction paper balloons :)

Seriously??

What a disgraceful day it was yesterday for the state of Utah.  What are supposed to be our two top college football teams played atrociously.  I've always been a BYU fan, and I thought they really had a chance to win it yesterday.  Haha was I wrong.  They started out by embarrassing themselves... but then it seemed to turn into a good game, you know close score and all.  Then BYU decided to just hand the victory to the Utes on a platter.  'Oh you want to win? Here we'll score your points for you.'  Not that the Utes have anything to brag about either.  They did not play well, and don't get me started on their creepy quarterback.  Big score regardless (which BYU scored half the points for them), they just played bad, and only at the end did they take advantage of Byu just giving up.

I'm not a 'Byu fan, U hater,'  I used to be, but now I don't mind when the Utes do well, it's good for the state.  I do want Byu to win when they play each other, but mostly I just want to see a good game.  Even if the team I like doesn't win, it's always better when the game is close and intense. It makes it fun.  Total blowouts aren't fun to me, even if the winning team is the one I like.  I love football, especially BYU football, but I don't get to watch it much.  So needless to say I was pretty disappointed with the games last night and with the way both teams played.  That said, I'm over it and will happily move on with my life :)

Penny Phobia

In response to my constant habit of picking up pennies off the ground (even in the middle of the road while crossing) Steven said, 

"The last words I'm going to hear from you are going to be 'Ooh a penny!'....

This will lead to an irrational fear of loose change"

I found this extremely amusing and laughed hysterically (probably because it's very possible)

Kindergarten

This past week I've been helping out a little in the Kindergarten class at the school

I work for. One cute little boy looks like a younger version of Steven with

bigger cheeks; and another boy looks like my brother Jameson when he was

younger, only with a lot darker skin and black hair.  I wish I could have taken

 pictures.  Then a different boy told me,

"I'm going to take you home. You can see my toys, and my dog, and sleep

in my bed.  You can't sleep in my dad's bed because it's too crowded. I'm

going to tell the teacher that I'm taking you home."

It was really cute and funny!

Today is also the 24th anniversary of the day that my mummy gave birth to me!

It's been a really good day so far, I'll have pictures and more details later :)

Salt Lake trip: Nieces and Nephews

Alright, last bit of catch-up from that nice long Salt Lake weekend.
We got to spend a lot of great time with our families and
that included seeing a lot of our nieces and nephews :)
And since they are super cute, I have a few pictures

I love feeding babies and having them fall asleep while being 

rocked, they're just cute, and Korver is adorable

We got to go to Hadley's last soccer game, we were a bit late but 

we still got to see her play.  She's pretty good, she almost got a few

goals, and even assisted in one of the goals for her team.

Haegen really wanted me to play on the playground with him, so I said I would 

if he let me take his picture with these sunglasses :)

Then he found this rusty spike thing that is the perfect

child's toy...

Then I got to see my Fatty McMc (aka, McKell, Kelly-Belly)

She's getting so big, she smiles a lot, and can roll over.

Then he would play with her and make her happy again.
We also got to see Piper, Miles, and Cloie, but I didn't have my
camera then.  We love our cute nieces and nephews :)
