Rock Church

I fell in love with the LDS 'Rock Church' the very first time I visited Cedar City.  I remember hoping that my ward would be in that building.  Well, as a college kid none of the student wards met there.  And as a married kid, we didn't live in the boundaries.  I'd get in there one day.  For the past little while it had been under construction for renovations. Then, the week before we moved I saw a sign for 'Free Tours.'  Done!

The lights were made with local iron, back in the day.

All of the furnishings are original.

I love the wood that was used throughout the building.

This is the baptismal font! Early saints picked out favorite rocks from the surrounding area to build it.  The whole room is painted too.  They don't use the font anymore; instead the room is used as a primary class.  I don't know how they keep the kids from climbing all over it!
The early saints in Cedar City worked very hard to build this beautiful church.
