Why not take a week, drive up to Oregon, and stay at a beach house? 

Other than 15 hours in a car... 

                Clouds in Idaho 

     The Columbia river, Oregon on our side, Washington on the other. And the amber waves of grain in Pendleton. 

          A stop at Multnomah Falls 

    Stop to see much missed family in Portlandia 

                 Hadley and Piper

    And the first views of the Pacific northwestern coast. Not bad for the 15 hour drive (split up in two days). Oh and the 60* weather, salty sea air, and beautiful scenery. Family time is good too :)
